About vBulletin Blog
vBulletin Blog is a fully featured blogging add-on that enables community members to create their very own online blogs within vBulletin. Giving members a place to post thoughts, ideas and musings will keep users returning to the community again and again, and advanced administration features allow forum owners and moderators to keep control and integrate Blog into vBulletin’s existing look and feel.
Fast Start
vBulletin Blog makes it simple for community members to create their own space within the community. Syndication and Subscriptions
Site wide and per-blog RSS feeds allow syndication to external readers, and full support for vBulletin subscriptions enables users to join their favorite blogs and receive regular email updates.
Blog Control Panel
The Blog Control Panel empowers members to control every aspect of their blogs, from permission controls (who has access to view and comment on the blog), to full management of blog categories, draft posts, trackbacks/pingbacks and subscriptions. Blog owners also have the ability to moderate comments on their own blog.

vBulletin Blog Running on vBulletin.com
Have you noticed the Blogs link up there in the navbar?
The development of the vBulletin blogging product has progressed to the point where we have installed it onto vBulletin.com's forum for the use of all licensed registered visitors, in order to receive feedback and bug reports etc.
Currently we are running only the blogging component, not the social networking part, which needs further work before being ready for deployment here.
Please feel free to blog away with the tools at your disposal, and make use of trackback and/or pingback to link your blog at vb.com to blogs elsewhere - this is one of the primary things we'd like to test on a larger scale here on vbulletin.com.
Before you start blogging, you may want to add a name and description to your blog. This can be done via your Blog Control Panel, a link to which can be found on every blog page, or in the list of links from your User Control Panel. It would probably also be useful to set your default blogging options and create some blog categories, the forms for which are also in the Blog Control Panel.
We hope you enjoy exploring vBulletin's new Blog systems and we look forward to receiving your feedback.

vBulletin 3.6.8 Released
0
vBulletin 3.6.8
vBulletin 3.6.8 is a maintenance release to improve the stability of vBulletin as well as providing required compatibility for the vBulletin Blog addon. The Blog therefore will require 3.6.8 as a minimum to function.
Changed files and mandatory template changes are listed below.
We have also fixed various bugs since vBulletin 3.6.7 was released, these fixes include:
22080: Internet Explorer locks up on forumhome
22260: Quick Reply causes errors with PHP 5.0.5
22242: Show edited by appearing incorrectly
22289: Email activation can lead to the wrong usergroup being selected
3.6.8 is a maintenance release and we recommend that all customers upgrade to benefit from many bug fixes and stability improvements.
No patch or plugin is available to bring previous versions up to 3.6.8 without a full upgrade, as the various changes to implement all the bug fixes represent a large number of changes. To get the fixes from 3.6.8 onto your own board, you must perform a full upgrade.
Full instructions for upgrading vBulletin are available here.
PHP and MySQL Requirements
Please note that vBulletin 3.6.x requires at least PHP 4.3.3 and MySQL 4.0.16 or later.
End of Life for PHP 4 announced
The PHP group recently announced that support for PHP 4 will end on December 31st, this means there will be no security updates or bug fixes for PHP 4 after this point. We seriously recommend that you consider upgrading to the latest version of PHP (5.2.3) and MySQL (5.0.45). vBulletin 3.6.8 supports both of these without any problems, though you may need to disable strict mode for MySQL, see here on how to enable 'force_sql_mode'.
Note: We will continue to support PHP 4 in our currently released versions.
Download vBulletin 3.6.8
As usual, vBulletin 3.6.8 is available for all customers with valid, active licenses to download from the vBulletin Members' Area.

Jelsoft's future: acquisition news
0
Dear vBulletin customers,
We are pleased to announce that Jelsoft Enterprises Limited has been acquired by Internet Brands, Inc., a leading provider of automotive, travel and home-related sites and communities.
As part of a larger organisation, with more than 500 employees, Jelsoft has access to additional resources, support and business expertise which will ensure that we can continue to grow and flourish. Products will continue to be actively developed and fully supported, and as time goes on you will begin to see noticeable changes and improvements that are made possible by being part of a larger organisation.
Internet Brands' intention is to focus on improving what we are doing at the moment, and that means significant investment in our software development, customer service and sales and marketing processes. Internet Brands is willing, able and ready to invest heavily in Jelsoft, not only to continue to offer the same great products to our existing market, but also to empower us to enter new markets and find new audiences for our products and services.
The day-to-day management of Jelsoft will continue largely unchanged. I will continue as Managing Director and CEO of Jelsoft, working alongside the executive team at Internet Brands. John Percival, co-founder of vBulletin, will be taking this opportunity to pursue other interests, and I’m sure you will join me in wishing him well and every success in the future.
I'm really excited about this news, and feel strongly that it was a great decision for the company and our customers. Jelsoft has achieved significant success over the last few years, and before we officially move into this new era, I'd like to offer my sincere thanks to all customers who have supported Jelsoft and vBulletin - It is your continuous support and loyalty that has enabled vBulletin to become a market leader in community solutions. Rest assured that, with the help and resources of Internet Brands, we will continue to work hard to produce products that are innovative, feature-rich and forward-looking.
Again, thank you.
All the best,
James Limm, and the Jelsoft team

vBulletin 3.6.8 Patch Level 1
This release is a patch to the 3.6.8 to fix a security issue reported to us this morning. Only 3.6.8 is affected by this issue. The only changes in this release are for this security issue.
The changed files are:
includes/class_bbcode.php
includes/version_vbulletin.php
There are no template changes.
What is a Patch Level? How does it differ from a full release?
A patch level release contains fixes for only the most critical issues in the previous release. In this case, this means the only changes are to address a security issue.
It is designed to be installed directly over top of your 3.6.8 installation, with no other action. You do not need to run any upgrade scripts.
How to Upgrade
This is not a full upgrade. You do not need to run any upgrade scripts to complete the upgrade.
Patch: Download a patch file discussed in this thread and upload them to your web server, overwriting the existing files. The patch is available from the Members' Area patch page or you can find it attached to this thread.
Full Package: Alternatively you can download the full package in the vBulletin Members Area and again upload the affected files mentioned in this thread.
If the files have been overwritten properly, your version will be listed as "3.6.8 Patch Level 1" in the administrators' control panel. Your version will still say 3.6.8 on the front-end.
